Compliance
Fire/EMS training and compliance
Public safety organizations are faced with more challenges today than ever before. Unlike a generation ago, fire departments today must respond to more than just fire calls. First Response to Emergency Medical calls is quickly becoming central to a volunteer or small career size department’s operations. With this new opportunity to serve the citizens comes a new set of challenges.
ESS can help with these challenges. We can provide initial EMS training for your members, and follow up with continuing education so they can maintain their certifications. We can provide infectious disease control training to help keep your members safe. ESS understands the difficulty of adding additional training on already overworked volunteers; however, we can ease this burden by offering training that is convenient, practical, and low stress. In addition, we can lift some of the record keeping burden from your administrators by maintaining training schedules and databases, and assisting your members with recertification requirements.
Maintaining your First Response equipment to State Office of EMS standards requires a considerable amount of time effort. ESS can assist your department by ensuring that your vehicles are properly equipped to state guideline. Furthermore, we can assist you in preparation for state inspections. Let us help you with these administrative functions, so you can focus on providing high quality services to your citizens.
Government Relations
Last year in Virginia, 3323 bills were introduced in the General Assembly. Of these, lawmakers approved only 884 to be sent to Governor, to eventually become law. 73% of these bills were tabled or killed. With numbers like this, it is not difficult to understand why organizations hire lobbyist firms to try to advance their causes. The challenge of keeping 40 state senators and 100 delegates informed on the subject matter of every bill is staggering. ESS believes it is critical that the company that represents Emergency Medical Services to elected officials not only understand the workings of government; that firm needs to be committed to the improvement of Emergency Medical Services. ESS can help.
Government relations are not limited to Richmond. With 156 towns, 39 cities, and 95 counties making up the Commonwealth, ESS can assist your organization in wading through the complex and challenging task of interacting and educating your local elected officials.
ESS would love the opportunity to fight for your cause, because we share it: making Emergency Medical Services a more effective industry that serves the citizens that need us. Whether your organization, jurisdiction, or company is trying to get a new law passed or needs help presenting information locally, ESS stands poised and ready to work with you in innovative ways to overcome the challenge of government relations. |
