Narduzzi Memorial Book Award for Excellence in the Emergency Services Management Program.   Blanton continued his education in prehospital medicine by obtaining his Critical Care Paramedic and Flight Paramedic certifications.  Blanton has worked as a flight paramedic and has an appointment from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as a medico-legal death investigator.  Outside of EMS, Blanton has continued to develop himself as a manager and a leader.   He was a 2006 Fellow of the Sorensen Institute at the University of Virginia’s Flagship Program for Political Leadership, and has been accepted into the Executive MBA Program at Virginia Commonwealth University.
